Is it Summertime yet?

The weather in Texas recently hasn't been pretty...nope, not one bit. It almost feels as if there has been rain almost every single day for the last month.Thankfully, in SL the weather is usually always sunny and shiny. Today's look is all about embracing the Summer season that is just around the corner. To start off I rezzed a nice little picnic basket and decided to showcase a cute short set I recently purchased at Collab88. Tee*fy's Giselle Romper is imho one of the cutest things I have run across in a long time because it is such a perfect girly outfit. I did purchase this romper in a few different color options because after all, summer is quickly approaching...right?

 I've been on a kick listening to Florence and the Machine recently. My current song of the moment is "What kind of man" I'm so attracted to the lyrics up above plus musically I love how there is a build up and at this moment there is a transition from something soft to a harder rock sound. If you haven't heard Florence and the machine take the time to do so. They are a great band.

Here's Looking at You.

The Pose fair of 2013 is now officially open and I am so excited to share with you some of the goodies I picked up. To me, the pose fair is such an important event because it highlights the wonderful creators who give us the gift of movement. Their creations help us express the full range of emotion.

The Pose fair of 2013 will be open until April 14, 2013. There are so many designers at the fair I found myself head over feet in awe looking at every store. In today's post I am highlighting a pose from Grafica, a store I discovered at the pose fair. Grafica brings fashionable male and female poses to your Second Life.

Scylla, is one of Grafica's newest pose set available for the pose fair. (each designer of the pose fair has new items available for this special event.) The entire Scylla pose set contains ten different poses all with the inclusion of mirrored sets. I picked the Scylla set for today's post because it provides the flexibility to explore different points of views.

Bird Song

The Skin Fair and The Boutique hit my pocket book at once yesterday making it almost impossible to determine my first must have purchases from these events. Finally, after teleporting from sim to sim and trying on demo after demo I chose today's look "Bird Song".

Casa Del Shai has been a label that I have worn since I first rezzed into SL. I loved the style, colors and that all items were hand painted. Casa Del Shai was not only a favorite of mine, but my better half, Frankie Palliard also loved this label. We used to spend hours shopping together trying to coordinate our outfit and Casa Dl Shai was one of the first stores that allowed us to do this effortlessly because the quality was beautiful for not only women, but men too. Often Casa de Shai made male and female outfits which complimented one another. I really can't begin to tell you how excited I became when I saw Shai's announcement on plurk that she was releasing a new skin for The Skin Fair. I knew this would be a skin that I would have to try out.

Song is one of Shai's new skins and is available at The Skin Fair. You can find Shai Skins on sim 1 at The Skin Fair. Song has ten different makeup options. Each skin contains four brow options, sculpted lashes (not worn in the photo) a bare skin and a makeup version with two cleavage options. I personally think Shai has done a great job on this skin line. Song brings together fantasy, fashion and flair into one skin.

To be fair, I am going to mention that I have altered the original skin by adding a lipstick stick tattoo, mole tattoo and mesh teeth to moderately enhance and achieve a unique personal style. I hope these small changes do not deter you from trying a demo of Song.

Ghostly Tale

Real Life has been chaotic recently which meant blogging roared to a screeching halt. I couldn't let the Halloween season pass by without showcasing a Ghostly look. I've been wearing this outfit for a couple of weeks, and have become quite smitten with the goodies used to create this look.

Now, I know I'm late on the Arcade Gacha party wagon. (a whole month late) But I'm wearing two goodies from the event. First is Glam Affair's Gacha Skin 09 and My personal favorite item out of the entire Arcade Gacha event, "Bad Apple Necklace" by Haut.Monde. The Arcade will be closing it's doors on October 15, 2012 so if you hurry you can still teleport in and pick up a quick goodie or two. If by some chance you don't have the opportunity to visit the Arcade this round. Don't worry, December is just round the corner and a whole slew of new goodies will be available to purchase, trade and even give to friends as holiday gifts.

Cool Tones

Cooler temperatures have recently made their way to my hometown which means early mornings and late nights are suddenly turning into "sweater weather" to keep comfortable. Not that I'm complaining I'm loving the break from the extremely hot temps. Although I'm going to enjoy the last small bit of summer we have left by trying to squeeze in a beach day or two. Truth be told I'm looking forward to the season change, Fall/ Autumn happens to be my favorite time of year mostly because of Halloween and Fall clothing.

Today, I'm wearing the color Aqua Island and moving on in Luna's 52 Week of Color Challenge, Week # 30. I'm not sure if Luna is aware of this, but her Color challenges really keep me motivated to continue blogging. They provide a different goal and challenge in finding a new color for each post and help create a theme I didn't have before. I have send a big Thank you to Luna for continuing these color challenges for such a long time. Even though I'm behind I will continue posting colors. Next Color Challenge post will be on, "Whales".

Gotta have Faith

 

I'm totally making a "Wham" reference in my blog post title because not only is PXL Creations new skin line called Faith, but It has me singing the song too......you know the part about the sexy body. Faith is in my opinion the best skin that Hart has created so far. I absolutely love the makeup options, brows and freckles. Faith is my new everyday skin so expect to see more blog posts in the future using this skin.

Faith is a gorgeous, sensual soft skin that is available in 8 skin tones. Inside each skin tone color purchase you will find a total of 18 base skins.  These skins include different features such as, cleavage enhancements, eyebrow color and freckles. There is even a full body freckle tattoo, and buzz cut tattoo available. Additional make up options can be purchased in build your own packs or in an entire fat-pack selection. Gangnam Style

This week I was introduced to PSY and his song "Gangnam Style".  I have no clue what is being sang in the song (because I don't understand Korean) yet I am finding myself unable to stop playing this song over and over again. Seriously, I have a "Gangnam Style" problem and might need an intervention soon. The main reason I love this song so much is because it's hypnotic beat and extremely catchy chorus. In order to attempt to purge the song from my OCD loop I am stuck in I've decided to make, "Gangnam Style" today's theme. I'm also tying in Week # 29 of Luna's 52 Week of Color challenge, Persian Rose. Next Color Challenge post will be on Aqua Island.

I am a Leo, Hear Me Roar!

 My Birthday just recently passed this week and now I'm proud to say I'm 30. In order to celebrate my birthday and Zodiac sign Leo I took a trip to SL's newest sales event, "Zodiac".

Zodiac is a new monthly sales event which is showcasing designers from all across the grid. Each month designers will create according to the Astrological Signs used in the Zodiac. The Leo Astrological sign will be available until August 17th and currently has an assortment of Leo themed goodies.

I'm currently wearing three designs found at the Leo Zodiac. My outfit is from Miamai and is called, "Amari Lion" It incorporates mesh and drawn designs to achieve a Leo-riffic cat print dress. My favorite piece of the outfit are the shoes are from, HANDverk these "Claw Pumps" give my look an animal feel bring out the inner Roar. Finally, Studio Sidhe has released The Lion tribute pose prop. The Lion has three poses within it and each pose can have variations depending on The Lion's position.

52 Weeks Of Color- Week 21- Lemon Chiffon

This color challenge was a very hard because lemon chiffon is a color that I don't have in abundance. I really looked hard within my inventory...sorting..and sorting. I even tried to go shopping for Lemon Chiffon, but it wasn't entirely easy. I almost skipped this color all together and went on to the next color block, Cobalt. Thankfully, I found this cute bathing suit hiding deep in my inventory and It was a very close match to this posts color challenge. Luna you are a tricky devil when picking these colors.

Today's look was actually brought together by the Wooden Sand Castle earrings from Intrigue Co. These earrings are totally cute, totally mesh and sizable to fit your ear and head shape. Intrigue Co. has released these cuties as part of this month's Collab88, which is Bleached Themed. If you're on the fence on purchasing the Sandcastle earrings I suggest you try a demo pair to see if they are for you. Oh and if you're wanting a complete set to go with the earrings. Intrigue also has a matching necklace for sale to compliment the beachy look.

52 Weeks Of Color- Week 17- Shuttle Gray

I decided to have a bit of fun with this color challenge and play on the wording of today's color. Shuttle Gray. The first images that came to mind were a space shuttle, traveling to far off lands and adventure.

I know I'm not wearing a real technical space suit, but I figured that since we're in Second Life I could get away with a bit more space fantasy. Today's look is more of a sexy Barberella/ Star Trek mix. It seems that I've lost my way and am no longer tethered to the space shuttle...Um Houston we do have a problem here. 

I think the next post I'll pick somewhere safe and comfortable to visit. Gotta keep myself grounded. :D

My 300th Post!

Today I'm celebrating my 300th blog post! I can't believe I've been blogging for over five years now. I started my blog on March 21, 2007. In the beginning my blog was more of a journal as a way to document my experiences within Second Life, slowly over time it became a fashion focused blog.

My first posts were very novice and crude, but they were personal and now they serve as a memory book which I can always look back on. I'd like to think my style of blogging has improved over time and will continue to improve as time progresses. Of course I had help: meeting other bloggers, reading tutorials and practice practice practice. I'll never consider myself an expert in both Second Life and Blogging, I think there is always something new to learn and ways to improve upon yourself.

I know some might be thinking five years and only 300 posts, but I did some calculations (I know, I'm a nerd): 61 months and 300 posts roughly estimates to 5 posts per month. Which to me is a big deal. I've taken several months off of Second Life in the past, had blogging holds because of Real Life situations. However the one thing that remains is my love for Second Life and Blogging.

In an effort to mark my 300th post I did a bit of cosmetic work on my blog and created a new template design using Photo Shop and the tools within blogger.  I feel a bit more "official" and unique with the new look. It was only with the new update to blogger that happened recently that I noticed I was able to make these changes. Took me long enough, huh?

I'm not sure what the future will hold if I will be able to continue on to another year, perhaps I will be lucky and be able to continue on for another five years. (Wishful thinking)  I do have some ambitions for my blog: I hope to improve upon my photography skills and perhaps return to exploring the gird.

Thank you for supporting me over the last 300 posts and five years. It's been a fun journey.

Spoiled Vampire Princess- Week 49-Wenge

Since it's so close to Halloween I've been wearing a doll avatar around second life for fun. I've noticed some interesting things that have occurred over the last couple of days, although I can't say that it been completely positive. I'll get into the differences I've noticed later.

First off the Spoiled Vampire Princess avatar is so cute and well made. It's a complete avatar and includes, two skins, two sets of ears (human and Nymph) and claws as well as a doll head shape. I love that this Doll is cut but evil. I picked it up from the For the Love of Hunt. My outfit is tailored to the 52 weeks of color challenge, color Wenge, week number 49.

so back to the little things I've noticed since wearing my new avie. The Spoiled Vampire Princess is a small shaped avatar that is supposed to resemble a doll; however I am getting mistaken for a child avatar.  Friends who are not used to seeing me outside my normal shape have commented on " How short I look". Strangers have stopped mid conversation and refused to acknowledge my hello. Even a normal shopping trip resulted in a couple of comments that were negative from other patrons.

Negative comments aside, it's not going to stop me from wearing this avatar because in the end it's really it's quite fun to wear. I plan on continuing dressing as a doll for a while at least until I find a new Halloween Costume.
