52 Weeks of Color Challenge- Week 18- Thistle

52 Weeks of Color- Thistle

"Do not blame the Thistle that you see no beauty."- Johnathan Lockwood Huie

Today's post is Week 18's color Thistle. I'm still a bit behind on Luna's 52 Week of color challenge, but don't worry I will be catching up slowly.

Thistle is a pretty purple color found in the "Thistle" flower. The flower itself is a bit pointy, but still non the less is beautiful. I've been blessed to see some of these flowers long the roadside in Italy and even in my very own yard.

Thistle was a hard color for me to find in my inventory, but I did manage to find traces of it within this lingerie set from Zaara. I have been waiting patiently to use this lingerie set I fell in love with it the moment I saw it plurked. (any excuse to take a photo in my unmentionables. ) I Think it's the combination of garter and thong I find so appealing. The view from behind is to die for.

The next color challenge post is Pueblo. I'm planning a trip in SL for this one.

52 Weeks Of Color- Week 17- Shuttle Gray

52Weeks of Color-Week17-Shuttle Grey
"The moon is the first milestone on the road to the stars." - Arthur C. Clarke

I decided to have a bit of fun with this color challenge and play on the wording of today's color. Shuttle Gray. The first images that came to mind were a space shuttle, traveling to far off lands and adventure.

I know I'm not wearing a real technical space suit, but I figured that since we're in Second Life I could get away with a bit more space fantasy. Today's look is more of a sexy Barberella/ Star Trek mix. It seems that I've lost my way and am no longer tethered to the space shuttle...Um Houston we do have a problem here.

I think the next post I'll pick somewhere safe and comfortable to visit. Gotta keep myself grounded. :D

Next Color post is Thistle, I've got my outfit all picked out already. :D

52 Weeks of Color, Week 16- Bright Turquoise

52 Weeks of Color -Week 16- Bright Turquoise
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."- Walt Disney

I've had this photo sitting on my desktop for a whole week now, but I just didn't have the time to edit it in photo shop until today. Today's post is on bright turquoise.

It seems the longer these color challenges take place the harder it is for me to complete them. Finding different variations of color within my inventory is a bit hard. I think this is a sign everything must be deleted and to start over again... Mmmm perhaps not.

Some cute new items I've picked up special for this color challenge are my outfit from Sn@TCH and this uber cool Unicorn Carouse horse from Intrigue Company.

I'm currently in love with this Unicorn, I've decided to name him Twinkle...don't judge. Twinkle reminds me of make believe, magic and just makes me happy when I get a chance to ride across Sims. Intrigue Co. helps bring the magic to Second Life. One of the cutest things about this Unicorn Carouse is when you first wear it plays, "Somewhere over the Rainbow". Just melts my heart a bit.

Next Color challenge post is on Shuttle Grey..This one is going to be tough. Time to put the thinking cap on.

"Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Finally working my way back to Luna's Color Challenge, Today is Sea Shell Peach. I might be a bit more of a cream color than peach today, but I figure it's close enough, right?

Collabor88 has a new line in this month. The Theme this month is DayDream, all items in the Collabor88 group are fantasy themed. I made my first trip though Collab88. (I usually visit every week until I have all the items I want.) I picked up two items from Collab88 today. Nylon Outfitters', Crochet Applique Dress in a Touch of Melon and Yummy's Featherweight Necklace. Both were too cute to not purchase on the first round.

Next posts color is Bright Turquoise.

My 300th Post!

Untitled
"We should not judge people by their peak of excellence; but by the distance they have traveled from the point where they started." -Henry Ward Beecher

Today I'm celebrating my 300th blog post! I can't believe I've been blogging for over five years now. I started my blog on March 21, 2007. In the beginning my blog was more of a journal as a way to document my experiences within Second Life, slowly over time it became a fashion focused blog.

My first posts were very novice and crude, but they were personal and now they serve as a memory book which I can always look back on. I'd like to think my style of blogging has improved over time and will continue to improve as time progresses. Of course I had help: meeting other bloggers, reading tutorials and practice practice practice. I'll never consider myself an expert in both Second Life and Blogging, I think there is always something new to learn and ways to improve upon yourself.

I know some might be thinking five years and only 300 posts, but I did some calculations (I know, I'm a nerd): 61 months and 300 posts roughly estimates to 5 posts per month. Which to me is a big deal. I've taken several months off of Second Life in the past, had blogging holds because of Real Life situations. However the one thing that remains is my love for Second Life and Blogging.

In an effort to mark my 300th post I did a bit of cosmetic work on my blog and created a new template design using Photo Shop and the tools within blogger.  I feel a bit more "official" and unique with the new look. It was only with the new update to blogger that happened recently that I noticed I was able to make these changes. Took me long enough, huh?

I'm not sure what the future will hold if I will be able to continue on to another year, perhaps I will be lucky and be able to continue on for another five years. (Wishful thinking)  I do have some ambitions for my blog: I hope to improve upon my photography skills and perhaps return to exploring the gird.

Thank you for supporting me over the last 300 posts and five years. It's been a fun journey.
