Deep in the heart of Second Life, there is a place where the dangerous sport of Giant snail racing takes place. Ok, so maybe snail racing is not a dangerous sport, but it sure is funny to watch :) Every Saturday in the Montmarte Sim, at 11 A.M SLT, snail racing takes place. Anyone can participate; however, you need to be there just a tad earlier 9:30 A.M SLT for training.

I came to cheer on friend, Kokothemonkey Wink, He first spoke of snail racing one night at the Gin Rummy and I will say it peaked my curiosity. I mean Giant Snail racing, sounded so completely odd. I just had to see what it was all about. Snails are usually slow moving creatures but something was different about these snails. They were Speed Racers.

Go Speed Racer Go!!

One of the coolest things about sitting in the stands is that you actually follow the snail you cheering for. This makes it easier to enjoy the race because your not having to use camera angles to get a good view of your pick. This leaves you with more time to shout encouraging statements to the racers :) (or insults to the others, lol)

Koko Came in 2nd place. Congrats Koko, you proved snails are not slow after all, but rather speed demons ;)
