Rudolph El Venadito

Rudolph with Your Nose so Bright

I didn't grow up speaking Spanish in my home. We were English only so I learned Spanish from overhearing family member and then in high school I took it in class. I'm one of the hispanics that well. isn't comfortable speaking in Spanish. I understand it way better than I speak it. It's often been the source of ridicule among others. Like Rudolph I know what its like not to be able to participate in Reindeer games.

Today's horny antler look is inspired by Rudolph, I choose a color pallet that was soft and neutral similar to a fawn and I even found a little deer to match. I'm wearing a uber cute short set from 1 Hundred, the LoveShack in Nude. Now, this is the first time I have blogged 1 hundred in my blog so let me tell you what I have noticed about these designs over the last few months. One Hundred is well made, fun and has several colors options. Every design that Sira I have run across from Sira is unique. They are bordering on a little Kawaii with a cross between sexy and cute, but not overdoing it.

I suggest you head on over to Second Chance event and pick up a goodie or two. This outfit is totally winter and not Christmassy, but with Christmas only 2 days away haven't we had a bit too much :)

Red

Red
"Losing him was blue like I'd never known.......Missing him was dark grey all alone.....Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met.....But loving him was red......Loving him was red" Red-Taylor Swift

With Valentine's day approaching next month, I decided to get the jump and start blogging all the pretty hues of red, white and pink....cause you know that's the traditional colors that we use to express Amore or Love. Today's look is an homage to cupid, if you notice I'm wearing wings.

During a recent trip to Uber I was twitterpated, by Paper Arrow's, breezy dress. I fell so hard for this dress that actually ended up buying it in several different colors, because it's so cute...how could I not. Some of the great features about Paper's Arrow's dress is that  you can customize the top portion which means a total of 20 different color options. Personally tend to stick to a monochromatic look from head to toe, but with Paper Arrow's, breezy dress there are.....options for styling. One of the things I enjoy the most about this dress is the smooth texture that give the illusion of silk or softness. Breezy truly does live up to it's name because it feels as if it would fly off on it's own. Paper Arrow is a new store to me, but will be one that I am visiting more often.

Now, I want to point attention to the feet. Candy Doll, created a set of shoes that were available for the Epiphany Gacha Event. Now, I had to say...I had shoe envy, which is why I bought these shoes. It seemed like all my friends had the fashion jump and were sporting them weeks before I jumped on board. CandyDoll's shoes come complete with a multi-color changing hud. 6 aspects of this wedge can be changed and customized to match almost any outfit.

Sixteen

Untitled

This whole post was inspired by something I read called, "You know you went to high school in the late 90s when.." I've included the link above for anyone who might be interested in reading it over. I have to admit I became a little reminiscent of the "glory days" after reading it over. There are so many in that list that I checked off.

Today's look is all about what I wore during the awkward teen years. It is the teen version of my style. When I think about the style I had during my teens this outfit pretty much sums it up, down to the boots. so let's take a moment to go over what I'm wearing from top to bottom.

Collab88 had some fantastic treats that were the perfect accompaniment to highlighting 90s style. a majority of the items I am wearing today are from this month's Collab88's round. Starting off with Elikatira's hair Lena. Now, I purchased a fat pack of Lena which included every hair color in this style, which is very unusual for me. I tend to stick with browns only; however Elikatira has done such a great job with the funky colors I couldn't resist and purchased the entire lot rather than trying to make up my mind on just one color.

Another great item I picked up at Collab88 is this Uber cute Skater Dress from Nylon Outfitters. It seems that no girl's wardrobe was complete without a spaghetti strap dress and of course a plain white t-shirt underneath. Nylon's design perfectly captures the skater girl dress trend, down to the flower print that was oh so popular. Dare I say that it is an iconic dress.

Finally, lets get down to the shoes. I used to have a pair of black combat style boots, and I think i might have tried to pair them with everything. My family used to refer to them as Frankenstein shoes. They had a platforms of course. (I'm a short in RL) but i digress, I loved those shoes and wore them until the plastic sole cracked...and even a little after. Friday's Juliette Boot was as close to the design that i could find within my inventory.

Musical Inspiration: No Doubt, Sixteen. I had this CD on repeat.

First Date

FirstDate

Our first real date wasn't as picturesque as this photo, but it did involve the rain and the city.

Frankie and I got caught in a thunderstorm without an umbrella and became completely soaked from head to toe. In order to escape from the rain we rushed into the nearest restaurant. We sat and talked shared a coke and really connected.  Ever since that moment the rain has become a special symbol to us because it reminds us of the first moment we shared together and when we first started out as a couple in Real Life.

When I saw Exposeur, released a set of rain themed poses for The Pose Fair 2013, I quickly picked up this pose titled, "Here comes the Rain Again". HANDvrk teamed up with Exposeur, to create beautiful spring colored umbrellas that compliment any rain poses.

There is still over a week to attend the pose fair of 2013. Make sure you stop on in and pick up a pose or two.

Vacation Time

vacation1

Summer is here which means it's time to pack up your suitcase and head to the beach for some much needed rest and relaxation. For me planning seems to be the hardest part of any vacation. Deciding what to wear, what to bring and where to go. It's so stressful, but I guess that's the price to pay when your taking a week off.

Since we're planning a beach vacation I knew packing a swimsuit or several swimsuits would be necessary. Luckily, Boom has just released "Ellio", a new set of mix and match bikini separates. So I knew I would be packing these cuties in my inventory. "Ellio" is 256 mix and match separate bikini pieces so choosing from the entire set and picking only one bikini was going to be tough. In the end I choose a couple of bikini sets because when I purchased a full set I received a small discount. (Gotta love a bargain.) One thing I'd like to mention is each bikini set has tin-table tan lines included which help show off your glorious time on the beach and all the hard work you did on your tan.

Once we arrived at our beachy destination I got all dolled up ready to relax and play in my little Oasis, but wouldn't you know I had a little accident tripped and fell off my swing. Darn my klutzy nature. I think I'll just spend the rest of my vacation under an umbrella with a drink in my hand.

Dark Tails of Dragons

Dark Tails of Dragons

“Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” G.K. Chesterton

Today's post is a bit of Fantasy. The whole look was prompted by two things, The Evita Headpiece from Glam Affair and a photo of Angelia Jolie as Maleficent I found on the web.

For those that haven't seen Disney's Sleeping Beauty you are missing out on a childhood classic movie. It's one of the original Disney films back when everything was hand drawn. Maleficent is the Villain in Sleeping Beauty. She's pretty wicked cool too because she has the ability to transform into a dragon.

I want to point out some newness in today's post. First The Evita Headpiece from Glam Affair, this headpiece is available at the Dressing Room. Once I saw it I knew I would create a look centered around the darkness. It's 100 percent Mesh and a great addition to an Avant-garde or Couture look.

Next, is a skirt from House of Fox, Also purchased at the Dressing Room. Unfortunately, this skirt is no longer available at the Dressing Room, But House of Fox has other unique outfits available in their main store. What I enjoy most about this skirt is the cross pattern and mesh quality. House of Fox has done a great job on this skirt.

Finally, I want to point out the skin from PXL Creations. This skin was a bit of serendipity, because I was in the market for a pale gothic looking skin. Luckily PXL Creations released a Vampire version of Kate for their group members. It's still available for free to the paid VIP Group. If you are a member be sure to pick it up and if you are not and would like to join it's only 250 Lindens. PXL Creations does deliver group gifts from time to time plus you can receive discounts on Fat Pack skin purchases. I've found it to be worth the entry fee in lindens.

***After I finished working on this photo I saw a gorgeous shot of Maleficent done by Grazia Horwitz, I hope she dosen't mind me sharing her flicker page. It's really beautiful. Soft lighting, Wonderful areas of light. Grazia really shows her artistic flare in this photo.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge- Week 18- Thistle

52 Weeks of Color- Thistle

"Do not blame the Thistle that you see no beauty."- Johnathan Lockwood Huie

Today's post is Week 18's color Thistle. I'm still a bit behind on Luna's 52 Week of color challenge, but don't worry I will be catching up slowly.

Thistle is a pretty purple color found in the "Thistle" flower. The flower itself is a bit pointy, but still non the less is beautiful. I've been blessed to see some of these flowers long the roadside in Italy and even in my very own yard.

Thistle was a hard color for me to find in my inventory, but I did manage to find traces of it within this lingerie set from Zaara. I have been waiting patiently to use this lingerie set I fell in love with it the moment I saw it plurked. (any excuse to take a photo in my unmentionables. ) I Think it's the combination of garter and thong I find so appealing. The view from behind is to die for.

The next color challenge post is Pueblo. I'm planning a trip in SL for this one.

What Season?

So originally I wanted to name this post "It's SL wear what you want", after a Plurk but I changed my mind because it didn't feel right for this post's context.

According to my last post I was holding out on breaking out the "winter wear", but guess what I'm sneaking in another two looks that are not exclusive to the season. The reason for the mash up is I received a cute pack from Evelyn Hartshon, owner and creator of *evie*.

I've been watching Evelyn's clothing designs develop on Plurk for the last couple of months and have become quite impressed with the ideas she comes up with. Her clothing designs are hand drawn which I love. I admire how she is able to match the seams and the detail she gives to smaller items such as the buttons on a sweater or the cross stitching on a seams.

*Evie* dropped off on me two different items, "Vintage Sweater" and "This Love Halterneck".  It's hard for me to pick a favorite out of the two because I actually love the look that was created using both of these two tops. The Vintage sweater is available in Three colors, Gray blue, Gray Green and Grey Pink (Shown Above).  "This Love Halterneck", is available in Three colors as well. Blue, Yellow and Purple. Each top runs for 120L a piece while Fat pacts are 300L.

Some News about *Evie*....
*Evie* is currently in the process of re branding so be on the look out for a new name. Also there is a new main store which is currently in a construction process.

*Evie* is currently involved in several different hunts. There is a board at the front of the store that provides a listing of the hunts as well as invitations to new hunts. Creators if your interested check out the "Fist Pump Hunt".

With the start of the holidays *Evie* has a festive booth out front with holiday goodies available at moderately low prices.
