I'm so going to discuss the "Second Chance Event" again, but first let me share something a little more personal about what is happening in Bells' RL life. 

Recently, I've been attempting to learn how to play ukulele in RL. I don't want to call this an impulse purchase because truth be told for the last two years I wanted to learn how to play this instrument. I just really wanted to be taught by someone so I could learn to play properly. I found myself motivated by an overwhelming feeling of sadness that blogging, shopping and eating delicious food couldn't fix.

I had to find something that could provide me with a productive outlet to channel my sadness, rather than crying. (Music is usually the fix.) So as of three weeks ago I can happily say that I am now the proud owner of my very own little Ukelelelelele, I mean Ukelele or Uke for short. I posted photos on my flickr if you want to perve. It's ok, I won't complain ;)

Now, let's segway back to SL goodness.  I really had a happy moment when I saw this pose set that Jessica13 Eracktor of Jess Poses created for June's round of Second Chance. A string instrument pose set, ahhh be still my bleating heart. Now, if I could just see some really cute Uke poses my heart would flutter at the speed of a bumblebee taking flight.

Jess's pose set comes complete with a total of 4 poses all with props of a violin and bow. They are really cute. The Second Chance Event is ending its June's round soon, so please get your fannies over quickly and pick up a deal or two. Day three of my vacation here at Risia. I’ve picked up that stupid statue that LT. Jones kept going on and on about. Its this small wooden totem called a Horogn. I’m not an art critic but I really don’t understand why she needs another one to add to her collection. Her quarters are littered with them.  Shrugs, who knows. LT. Jones is a strange one.

So far everyone seems really nice on this planet. I just can't seem to understand why all the men (and even some of the ladies) keep asking for bacon or Jamon...or perhaps it was jamaharon.....or jam. (thinks) I don’t know. My Spanish translation book isn’t really working well with the native language. Must be some kind of fancy breakfast they have in the mornings. Must make sure to look into the breakfast bar.

In all I’m having a swell time on my vacation. A whole new swim suit from a few local stores I visited...and the sun and sand. Right now, life is pretty peachy some might even say perfect.

Secrets

It's time to make good on my promise and talk a little about mesh heads. The mesh head adaptation isn't one that has been easy for me. I'm kinda am going back on my word by even stumbling into mesh head territory, but I realized that if I didn't try...I would be left behind. I always feared that getting a mesh head would mean that I would lose my individually and the little things that made me unique in SL would fall to the side. I did try a few things to give myself some unique aspects..I'll mention them below.

It seems more and more designers have geared their new release skins to work exclusively for mesh heads. This made shopping events I loved to visit a little frustrating because I couldn't purchase the newest skin. I did however do the following for months before getting my mesh head. I collected every freebie or low cost applier that I could get my hand on. Even though I had no intention at the time to actually get a mesh head I wanted to be prepared in the event I did.

I had several talks with my SL friends about mesh heads so I had a lot of opinions and thoughts to take into consideration when choosing one. Above all, I took my time, I test drove several heads and skin appliers before making the final purchase. Mesh heads are not cheap, I think mine cost about 6k in Lindens. Quite a hefty price to pay. So if you are thinking about making the transition to a mesh head I strongly encourage you to take your time in order to avoid buyer's remorse. (which might happen)

Which head and skin combo did I pick? Well,  let me tell you. I stuck with my old faithful and trusted skin designer, Glam Affair. Glam Affair imho, makes the best skins in SL. Everything is pretty much flawlessly desinged. Glam Affair skins also are 100 percent compatible with my mesh body from Maitreya. For me, Catwa seemed like the only choice when it came to picking a base mesh head, here's why. Catwa seemed to be the most popular, meaning LOTS of skin designers and appliers had been made for this skin. Also, there are Animation Huds that are included in your purchase which allow some emotion to be shown. I've been having fun playing with them so far.

So what are some things that I did to make my SL face slightly more unique?  I used appliers. Two key things that I feel are a trademark on my SL face are freckles and eyeliner. I wanted to keep these things when making the transition to mesh, but was worried I was going to lose them since Glam Affair didn't have an applier for these two options. What I did was ask around. My friend Daallee was able to steer me into the right direction and provided me with a link to Izzie's appliers and I found both freckles and eyeliner. These appliers can be totally removed and added via a HUD and I feel help make me a little more unique. You can also choose different SL mesh eyes and lashes to enhance your SL Face.

The bottom line when it comes to purchasing a mesh head is DON'T rush into it. Take your time and try many different skins, mesh heads and appliers. There is a way to get your unique style through. You just have to work a little to uncover it.

Ride of the Valkyries

Much of my knowledge of Valkyries comes from a bugs bunny cartoon. I know, totally lame but it's true. I really had no knowledge of the folklore of Valkyries; however, after some handy wiki searching. (which I know is such a reliable source of information.) I was able to discover that Valkyries played an important role on the combat field. According to folklore they choose half of the men who died in battle to be carried away to Valhalla. While the other half we sent to the goddess Freyja. I imagine, that there was some type of qualifying system to choose these men. What would would make man worthy of entering Valhalla? Well that's a question that is beyond me and must be answered by Valkyries only.

Today, I am portraying the role of Valkyrie and it's all thanks to Glam Affair who pulled out all the stops in designing their new head dress for We Love Role play. I absolutely adore this headpiece. The details alone are pretty remarkable. The wings are beautifully sculpted and while it is ornate in it's design there is still a simplicity which beautiful.

I'm also showcasing a semi new skin. Now, it's taken me a little bit of time to post this new skin because I wanted to make sure I properly took the time to examine the details. As I mentioned in my previous post Uber is showcasing some sports themed goodies and Glam Affair's Ballerina Skin by far the most gorgeous I have worn. Butterflies and Hurricanes

Today post is all about highlight some cute whimsical items I purchased. I'm highlighting, Moon Amore's Papillion Dreams Dress in Pink and Breathe's Limerance Heels in Nude. Now, I have to admit Breathe's shoes were the main reason why I tped into Collab88. I had peeked at previews on flickr and knew immediately that I would be sporting them. What I adore most about these shoes is the fact that they have little changeable butterflies that sit along the back. To me they create the perfect accent to these heels.

Now, I totally don't want to overlook Moon Amore's dress so let me get right down to why I purchased this dress. It was the butterflies. I know I'm a total girl; but I just couldn't resist when I saw the butterfly designs that accentuate this dress. Not only to they cling to the side of the dress a sensation of flight; but you can also find butterflies along the back of the dress as well. The Papillion dress is very shear so please be advised that if you are wearing this dress you may show some skin; which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Birthday Wishes

I closed my eyes blew out the candle and wished....for ....you.....

My RL birthday is today and I've just turned 33. I have to admit it, I'm really not feeling it this year. Don't get me wrong I've had my share of Birthday good wishes. My family took me out to dinner and work colleagues were especially nice. I feel thankful to have these people in my life; yet I can't help but feel that there is something missing. That little spark that gets you through the day; that special person that lets you know it's ok. Not that I need someone; but it's sure nice to have. Tonight I have Taylor Swift's, "Begin again" on repeat because it is a reminder that I'm hopeful that I might be able begin again. After all, if I can say that I have learned anything over the last year, it is this... I'm resilient and able to endure....even if I get a little lost from time to time.

The ROMP's Summer Fair has officially opened and there are so many lovely items in my inventory it was difficult choosing what to blog. I think I might have gone just a little overboard with the pink in today's post, but I what can I say, I do love the color. All the items in today's photos are directly from ROMP's Summer Fair. (except the hair and skin) Which makes ROMP a one stop shop for your entire naughty needs. ROMP's Summer Fair is open from July 3-17th. So don't worry there is a lot of time to head over and get your ROMP on.

Let's take a look at what I'm wearing in today's post; (although I know it's not much.) Violent Seduction, released a cute harness, Siccus and its a complete outfit with a matching bra and panty; I know I'm only wearing the bottom harness in these photos. What I favor most about this harness is the little flair at the hips which I think give a flirty little feel. The panties include Maitreya Mesh Body appliers and are perfect for providing a little coverage.

Now for the toys, there are two creators that I am showcasing in the post. HopScotch's and The Horror. HopScotch's Bunny Gag looks so innocuous and innocent who would believe it was created to muffle moans. HopScotch, has four versions of animals that you can choose from: Bunny, Cat, Fox and Pig. All are equally adorable. The Horror's Candy Collection (the tray with toys) is available in two color options; pink and black. Each toy in the Candy Collection can be unlinked for individual use. I happen to think these toys are very well made and would make a great addition to anyone who enjoys taking naughty photos.

Finally, let's get down to where the magic happens....the boom chika bow wow.....well you know what I mean, the bed... Jian, has released an entire bedroom set at the fair and it's fantastic. In fact I just put away my old bed because I enjoy Jian's bedroom set so much. Each part of the bed can be customized to suit you. The wood, blankets, pillows, sheets can all change color. Not only is Jian's bedroom set aesthetically pleasing, but there is also great function in all the poses that are included. (both naughty and nice)

Impossible Sunday

Usually, on Sunday Mornings I find myself sitting in a robe wishing and thinking of impossible things. It's the day I like to play soft music and reflect on the previous week's events.  It's peaceful, tranquil and allows me to indulge into that introverted aspect of myself.

Today, I'm showcasing a store that has slowly become one of my favorite and go to places to shop; Valentina.  Style over substance is never a compromise I have to make with Valentina. I get the best of both worlds. Each design, I've purchased has yet to be disappointment and has worked perfectly with the Maritreya mesh body. Wearing Valentina is never wishing for the impossible because I never question the quality or price tag on the goodies I purchase. If you haven't taken the time to visit Valentina I strongly suggest that you do. You won't be disappointed. 

Now if only other things in life were this easy, perhaps then I wouldn't be dreaming of the impossible.

Summer Love

Summer time always seems like the perfect time of year to throw caution to the wind and have an adventure. The days are longer nights seem filled with activities and it's that time of year when people find that oh so popular Summer Love. For me, summer love hit me like a ton of brick and it's all because of Foxes and Teefy.

For today's look I took a little trip back to Collab88 for some summer treats. Everything I'm wearing in today's post is from this month's Collab88. I had been looking for a mesh bikini that works with the Mariteya mesh body and Foxes, Summer Love bikini top and jacket fit the bill perfectly. Teefy, another favorite store of mine has a pair of shorts in this month's Colab88 which also matches the Mariteya body well. I couldn't be more pleased with how this whole look came together.  I hope you take some time to head over to Collab88 and take a peek at all the goodies available. Let down

 Ever have one of those days or periods in your life where everything seems like a let down? You get passed up for the promotion; the cute guy you like is not interested; someone made a promise then broke it; miss that limited time sale at your favorite shop. (ok perhaps this last one isn't a big let down) This pretty much captures my life and mood at the moment. I'm sure I just need a few days to get over the sadness that develops when you are: let down, disappointed and crushed. As for today, I'm going to have Radiohead's, "Let down" on repeat until I find something else to lift my spirits.
