 Every month I look forward to seeing what goodies the Second Chance Event rolls out. The bargain shopper in me squeals with delight to see SALE flash across my screen. This month's round has the same quality of goodies that I have grown to love. 

Fairy Kipedia, of Les Sucries de Fairy has Two cute and wearable items. I love fantasy. Clothes that push the bounds of what is possible in Real Life that can only exist in our imaginations and be brought to life in a virtual world like Second Life.

Brooke, the dress I'm wearing is one of the six gacha items available. It reminds me of a shattered glass or sound. As if something has been hit hard by a bass drum sound causing separation and then coming back together to form a cohesive unit. 

So far, I haven't been disappointed by Les Sucries de Fairy on delivering a blog worthy outfit. It's such a joy to pull together a look and wear the ensemble that could only have been created with the key integral parts of her designs.

I didn't grow up speaking Spanish in my home. We were English only so I learned Spanish from overhearing family member and then in high school I took it in class. I'm one of the hispanics that well. isn't comfortable speaking in Spanish. I understand it way better than I speak it. It's often been the source of ridicule among others. Like Rudolph I know what its like not to be able to participate in Reindeer games.

Today's horny antler look is inspired by Rudolph, I choose a color pallet that was soft and neutral similar to a fawn and I even found a little deer to match. I'm wearing a uber cute short set from 1 Hundred, the LoveShack in Nude. Now, this is the first time I have blogged 1 hundred in my blog so let me tell you what I have noticed about these designs over the last few months. One Hundred is well made, fun and has several colors options. Every design that Sira I have run across from Sira is unique. They are bordering on a little Kawaii with a cross between sexy and cute, but not overdoing it.

My apologies for my delay in this month's round. I had a little Summer Vacation, but I'm back with a fierce look from The Second Chance Event's August Round. Luna is a designer that I completely fell head over feet for this round. So I'm taking the time to showcase another great design from her August's Collection. This time, the Earth Dress in an electric lime green color....SHOCKING, right?! Aside from the vibrant neon hue, I really became entranced by the disco pattern that shapes the sides of the dress. Really, Luna is a new store that I am so thrilled I discovered. I know I'll be making my rounds to this store to discover new items in the future.

 This month's Second Chance event is underway which means I'm positing my favorites out of the bunch. This is the first of a few upcoming posts geared to highlight the goodies that managed to make it's way into my cross-hairs for the month of June.

First off, The background, The Bearded Guy has a Seven Nation Army set that made me Boom with excitement. I know, I’m a girly girl, but honestly, I love things that go BOOM!

I used to play Halo. I know old school. First Person Shooter games really resonate with younger Bells and yes, Its been years since I've done any real console gaming. Seven Nation Army tapped into that badass woman mentality that I need when playing these games. It really makes me want to console game again. Women in video games is something I will discuss at another time. I'm getting off topic here. Back to The Bearded Guy.

When purchasing The Seven Nation Army set there are a couple of purchase options available.
1) a full complete set that is currently at 50% it's normal price
2) smaller individual randomized Gacha versions that can be purchased.

I opted for purchasing Gacha items at 25L a pop. I was thrilled with what I was able to get with my play. The Boss Tent, Two Med Kits a Grenade, The Sentry Chain Gun and Warrior TT.

I absolutely LOVE the Seven Nation Army set. I might end up playing with my new toys for a couple of days. I have some images of war and fighter girls brewing in my head that I might need to release soon. I only wish these items were drive-able and actually contained animations in them. They would make a great series.

Next, I'd like to point out the killer lingerie set from Ricielli. Ricielli isn't a store that is new to me, My Maleficent posts did use one of Ricielli's sets previously. What I have discovered is that I am quickly becoming a BIG fan of Ricielli's designs. Ricielli Tonia Lingerie set has me completely enchanted by the way the items fit my avatar and the details that have been used to create the right aesthetic of sleek and sexy. My favorite part of this lingerie set is the hips. I love all the binds, straps and the garters that are added. Something about straps that is just fun to play with in SL and RL.

I paired the lingerie set with a few goodies I had from a previous Second Chance round. From April's round, Brii Underground released a Laura Croft set. I'm wearing the guns directly from that set.

I also paired very stunning pair of boots from Ricielli, The Cuissard Boot. The match effortlessly helping to create a monochromatic look which might be ideal for hiding in the desert dunes.

I'm Just a Girl

My Blog has always been a good place to discuss whatever is on my mind. Today's post. I'm just a Girl, or am I?

For those that don't know, I'm an Aunt to two girls. I have no children of my own. As my nieces have began to grow up I'm left wondering about the society they will interact with. Are we being good role models for young women? Are the women we see in our society in media really highlighting the best we are?

It wasn't until I started researching "appropriate" birthday gifts for young girls that I discovered a startling statistic, all thanks to everyone's well loved doll, Barbie.

Mattel and Barbie are teaming up to promote, "The Dream Gap". What's the dream gap you ask well that's an excellent question. I can't answer it is wonderfully as Mattel's commercial does, so I'm embedding the link here. Please watch.




I have to admit, Barbie was not someone I would ever view as a feminist figure type. It's been a very long time since I had played with Dolls. (Avatars don't really count) I was wrong on my assumption on what Barbie is now and days; and perhaps you might be too.

So Let's discuss, Barbie! Barbie is so strong for girls because she allows girls to imagine.

I have recently stumbled upon a YouTube videos series from Barbie in a Vlogging style. They are POWERFUL. These are HARD topics to discuss. "Forgiveness", "Not saying Sorry," Cultural Inclusion and Power and Empowerment...Topics that impact not only young girls but WOMEN regardless of age. These are values and ideas that can make BIG changes in young girls lives and shape our cultural view and social status of women. Allowing girls to become women who have a strong handle on life and even change the male female dynamic which is in jeopardy of becoming more unstable in our current times.

As someone who is in her mid 30s these Vlogs are IMPACTFUL to my life. There are some lighter fun topics so the content is not all morality based. The lesson delivery of this material is light enough not to become too overwhelming to digest and RELATABLE. Barbie is REAL in these videos. The writing and character acting is authentic for the audience it is intending to impact. As I mentioned, mid 30s Bells is hearing topics she strongly believes and aligns with hole heartily.

Mattel is using its influence correctly not just to push a product out but to really help make changes that will impact society. Can we PLEASE see more of this?

I'm hoping that perhaps with my blog I can help bring awareness to others in our community. This right here this is the change we need to see. Women on Woman violence is something that moves across SL quicker that a blink of an eye or a thought. The consequences of the action isn't felt in a RL impact by the person performing the negative action.

Is it the anonymity that you cling to what allows you the freedom to shed negativity to another woman? How far before Tic for Tac, Eye for Eye becomes so great you lose friends? At what point do you STOP? When will you be held accountable for YOUR bad behavior and fake sense of empowerment you provide others?

As I mentioned I'm an Aunt, a Big Sister, a daughter and future wife but the most important label I carry with me is that of a WOMAN. I will continue to fight for you and anyone else because well....That's the right thing to do. Stand up for you, not because were friends but because we're women.

Es La Hora Para Cenar or Dinner Time, Today's post is highlighting the Hispanic side of my RL self. Yes, boys and girls for those who do not know know Bells is actually Hispanic in RL. I fell head over heels with collaborative work from The Bearded Guy and Infinity Looks. Their "Around the world" set is reminiscent of a very important hour, Dinner Time. El Comedor comes complete with a table chairs decorative mosaic background and clock on the wall. It's ideal for anyone who would like to capture a family meal.

I'm showcasing a few other goodies from The Second Change Sale, AZUL's - Epie dress in Ruby is one of my favorite out of this month's collection and a pose fromSaddy's Sweet Poses, Motorcycle Momma. Now, I want to talk about a small Spanish pet peeve of mine. In my nuclear family Spanish was not spoken. We didn't grow up speaking it. (in my family aside from my grandparents.) I understand a lot more than I can speak and I can read the language. (I'm embarrassed by my non accented pronunciation of the words and I have been ridiculed about it my whole life. Trust me native Spanish speakers will give you looks if you fail at correctly pronouncing words.) so back to my point, I promise I have one.

I almost missed this round's Second Chance Sale event, but thankfully, I think the time I spent collecting all the goodies and carefully reviewing them has left me with the best of the best to showcase.

So today without further delay I present my favorite dress from, CW's collection Niobe. Niobe, is a full figured girls dream. I love the way my curves are hugged especially my hips. Now if I had a formal event THIS would be the dress I would be wearing. Another thing I really admire about the designer's work is the intricate shear lace that accentuates the top. It's just the right about of transparency that gives a peek but isn't revealing too much.

Once Upon a Dream

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream....

So recently, I've had this haunting melody and image rattle around in my brain. Maleficent, the Disney Villain has been dying to escape the corners of my mind. Its been a look so strong and vivid That I had to create a video to showcase her style was the only thing that quelled the beast inside.

I'm still working hard on my video editing and this is very much something I'm wanting to improve, but as a solo machinima video editor difficult. I'm seriously lacking in animations. Static poses are things I have down packed, after 12 years of blogging. I'm hoping that if I continue to push myself I will be able to continue to advance my skills.

Should I stay or Should I go??

When Tess of LovelySweet released a Stranger Thing tees..I fell into a little into a pop culture shock, wanna know why?

Well...Stranger things, I had never seen it. I know, I’ve been living under a rock. “Bells why haven’t you seen stranger things before?” Simple, I don't really watch TV at all. I had seen Memes, so I knew there was something about waffles, the number 11 and Winona Ryder...oh and a Barb. I knew I had to rectify this situation immediately BEFORE blogging the set of tees. Authenticity..Smiles.

So as of last week, I can say I have seen Season 1 of Stranger Things...who has my achievement unlocked badge?

I've learned that Netflix is going to be releasing Season 3 soon, which means if you're a TV buff, Tess's Tee are perfectly suited for you. You can purchase one of the 9 tees or a whole kit n' caboodle fat pack set. LovelySweet's tees are all available at the marketplace. (Links are below)

Above I'm wearing my favorite out of the set. "Friends Don't Lie" Something about the friendship that the group had really touched me....and it's an honest statement that should be followed by any group of friends. DON'T lie.

• Be honest with one another when you're hurt.
• Give feedback that is direct and from the heart.
• Recognize and adapt delivering bad news. Sometimes you might say things that the other person may not want to hear, be kind but deliver the truth. They will respect you for it.
• Don't gossip, share more than you need to. THINK...if that person was sitting right in front of you, would you say it to someone else? and WHY would you be comfortable sharing it with a third party? How would you feel if it were you in that situation?

I know the above statements might be pretty hard to swallow especially given our intangible world that we reside in. False friendships can be easily formed and hedonism drives the core aspects of most social interactions.

 
  So as I'm gearing up to Season 3 I'm going to leave you with Bells' important tips when watching a new show.

1. Have snacks: personally, I enjoy a good spicy chip and soda and something really sweet.
2. Gather comfy blankets and PJs: I enjoy cocooning myself into a little blanket burrito of goodness and create my own pillow/blanket fort.
3. Have control of the remote control. Don’t let anyone touch it.
You are captain of the couch and control everything. Bathroom breaks, snackage treats and most importantly the volume and mute button ;)

So I think I’m pretty set to watch stranger things Season 2 and 3 now...I kinda wish I had someone to watch the show with. I’m a little afraid of the dark. Eeeek. *hides under blanket.

Day three of my vacation here at Risia. I’ve picked up that stupid statue that LT. Jones kept going on and on about. Its this small wooden totem called a Horogn. I’m not an art critic but I really don’t understand why she needs another one to add to her collection. Her quarters are littered with them.  Shrugs, who knows. LT. Jones is a strange one.

So far everyone seems really nice on this planet. I just can't seem to understand why all the men (and even some of the ladies) keep asking for bacon or Jamon...or perhaps it was jamaharon.....or jam. (thinks) I don’t know. My Spanish translation book isn’t really working well with the native language. Must be some kind of fancy breakfast they have in the mornings. Must make sure to look into the breakfast bar.

In all I’m having a swell time on my vacation. A whole new swim suit from a few local stores I visited...and the sun and sand. Right now, life is pretty peachy some might even say perfect.

Have you ever sat in a room full of strangers trying to keep a strait face while you have something buzzing in your ears and reverberating through out your whole body? Yea, well....that’s what it’s like today.

I can’t help it as my hips sway and move to the beat. My face erupts into a smile and sigh of relief. I am totally addicted to bass. Now, You're probably thinking BELLS!!! TMI! but let me tell you a little more....

Second Chance Sale has some goodies that I couldn't keep to myself and I had to share. In fact I was so inspired by this sale that I had to create a little video to showcase all the goodies I found.
