Falling Away With You

Falling Away With You

It’s the most order full time of the year.....
Ok, so perhaps it’s not the Christmas season quite yet but its one of my favorite times of the year, Fall. I know I’m going to sound like a Meg Ryan movie but I love the smell and changing of the leaves, the crispness in the air, the need to not use the AC and how things grow darker and become more subdue. For me, indulging in Fall is something that brings a peace and tranquility into my life. Some might find solace in the sun, but I prefer the gloom that encompasses fall more than anything.

Today’s look is my homage to the fall season, I’m showcasing a few goodies from Second Chance’s event. I’m wearing an outfit from GGVG Designs and I’m using fall leaves from Perfona. These goodies are perfect for accenting the season of fall.

Once again I encourage you to visit The Second Chance event and pick up a goodie or to. You won’t be disappointed, promise.

Waiting for Godet

Waiting for Godet

They say waiting is half the battle, but what if like Godet it never arrives?

Lorelai Bonetto, owner of Preptopia was kind enough to drop off her latest creation, Old Hollywood on me. I've taken the Old Hollywood dress out for a test drive and well I have to say that I quite pleased with it. Old Hollywood comes complete with several sizing options from XXS to Large. There is  fitted mesh option which means that you will be able keep your unique shape and still look pretty in Preptopia. Old Hollywood has a total of 9 color options and even had a HUD option for additional customization.

Head on over to Preptopia and pick up your very own version of Old Hollywood.

Musical Inspiration-Want to know what album I can't stop listening to? It's Lyndon Heart's Strangeheart Album. If you are not familiar with SL music or Lyndon heart I totally think you should take some time to listen, and perhaps pick up an album or two. Lyndon is all class.

MaRam Aries

MaRam Aries

I'm having a bit of fun with today's look MaRam Aries. I visited the Zodiac Event and picked up some really cute items for today's post.

First off, The cute Sheepies from Adore and Abhor are my absolute favorite out of the collection. The Sheepies are available as a Gacha, each play will cost 50L but they are totally worth it.

Next, I stalked over to Boom's area and picked up a set of "I am Aries" ram horns. I decided upon Gold, however, there are many several color options for you to choose from. The, "I am Aries" set a unisex design and is available with three options, 1) horns alone 2) mask 3) horns and mask.

Sitting pretty right next to Boom's sale kiosk is !Bang poses. I picked up the overcome pose series for today's post. There are two pose sets available optimistic and overcome for your buying pleasure.

I'm definitely not  finished with my Zodiac shopping, but I had to put together this look and showcase these cute items first.

Not to make fun of myself or anything, but while working on this blog post I had a bit of a flash back to the Power Rangers. I think my look resembles the Villain, Rita. ha ha ha ha

Orange you Happy for Spring?

Orange you Happy for Spring?

“And like flowers in the fields, that make wonderful views, when we stand side-by-side in our wonderful hues.."- unknown

We had one of our first spring days of the year in Italy. To celebrate I decided to dress up in Orange from head to toe. Sadly, dipping into my inventory meant some of the items I am wearing are no longer available. Either because they are older discontinued items, or the shop is no longer available in world. Nevertheless, I am still a fan of these designers and feel that their creations needed a day in the sun.

Happy New Years!

So it's here, the day to make resolutions and start over fresh. I've been thinking about what I would like to have as a New Years resolution and so far here is what I've come up with for Second Life.

1. Send more IMs to friends and start making Second Life more fun again.
2. More comments and favorites on people's blogs and Flicker streams that I admire and read.
3. Clear the clutter from the my SL inventory.
4. Explore to find new Sims and Stores...(This sounds like a star trek resolution, :P)

I know it's only four resolutions and they're really not big ones, but I think that perhaps these might make SL a bit more of a social place again, and open new doors to friendship. Recently I've been feeling a bit left out and isolated in SL. I've decided that the only way this can change is if I make the attempt first and put effort into building relationships again. I might be changing the blog a bit as I start exploring this new part of Second Life, but I will always continue to post my, "mishaps in fashion".

I hope you have a wonderful New Years. May 2011 be the best year you ever had and bring new possibilities and a brighter future.
XOXO

52-Weeks of Color-Plum-Week 4

 Plum
"you smell like...........sweet red plums and grilled cheese sandwiches."  -The Wedding Planner

This week's color is Plum. for more details on the color challenge please visit Luna's Blog.

Once I bite down on a plum and the juice hits my mouth a smile develops across my face. Its sweet nectar is such a treat and I'm in heaven with every bite. For this weeks challenge I wanted to give a look that was sweet, full of vibrant color and played off the color of this delicious fruit's color.

I tried something different for this weeks challenge I played up the wind-light settings to give a slight tint the sky. I also found a lovely Sim to visit for this photo. I hope to use the location for more photos in the future because it was so breathtakingly beautiful.

Just Because...

A couple of days ago Hart Larsson of PXL Creations dropped off his newest skin, Dafne on me and well I simply can't get enough of these beauties. I have been playing around with different looks and skin tones trying to create a look that will highlight Dafne in a manner that shows just how much detail PXL creations gives each skin. What I've discovered through this process is Dafne is perfect for dressing up into something Glam or when trying to give yourself that girl next door look. It's even great when slipping into something smexy. Totally versatile PXL skins are special, beautiful and packed with options!

Fall

Each skin includes the following selections.
3 eyebrow colors (light, medium and dark)
1 Tattoo Layer for freckles
1 Cleavage enhancer (option for Undershirt or Tattoo Layer)

PXL Creations has a total of four skin tones in it's Dafne line.
LT (Light), SK (SunKissed), NAT(Natural) and PA (Pale).

The Makeup aspect
So getting down to the most colorful and soulful part of any skin the Makeup. This is where Hart packs the creative heat and is in tune with his customers. I've seen his plurks where he asks for advice from fellow plurkies on what they would like to see on a skin. The amazing thing is that Hart follows the ques and incorporates these suggestions creating an assortment of colors and style.

There are a total of 7 lipsticks
Nude, Pale, Bronze, Pink, Wine, Rose, Passion

A total of 4 Eye makeup options
Nude, Extreme, Glam and Special

A total of 27 skins in each skin tone. Prices for indivudial skin tones are $1,000L while eyepacks containing 7 skins are $5,000L.

* Remember if you are a part of the PXL female VIP Group you can recieve 10% discount on your purchases.

Oldie but Goodie, The Plurky Blogger Challenge #1

Summer Vacation is over for me and its time to get back into the full swing of blogging again. I figured what better way to get back into thing than by stepping up to the "Plurky Blogger Challenge" cause,  1) I'm a plurkie. 2) a blogger and 3) I need a little motivation to kick off the blogging process again. I've seen several of my fellow plurkies complete this challenge and the items they are pulling out are fantastic treats of secret SL memorabilia.  The Plurky Blogger Challenge was created by Alysha Rennahan. This weeks challenge is "Oldies, but Goodies". So without any more delay here is my Blast from the Past look.

So as we all know SL has had some incredible growth in fashion. I searched through out my entire inventory and was able to pull this look together. All items are over two years old. When I first started SL I wasn't really into fashion but rather choose items that I thought looked good texture wise. The designers I am wearing are some that I still shop at even to this day. (yep Loyal customer, That's me) Some of these designers are no longer creating under the Names/Labels they once used others might have stopped altogether. The fact remains that these designs continue as part of my inventory because of the quality of work and appeal they possess when mixing and matching with other items.

Hair- Naughty Design, creator: Lost Thereian, Style: Angel, Color: drift wood, Acquired : Dec 28, 2006

From what I can remember ND was the it place to shop in 2006. The texture in hair design far exceed the competition rivaling ETDs designs. It was filled with sexy, inticing, scantly clad clothing, skin, hair and shoes for both male and female. It was like Armidi before Armidi. One could venture into ND a noob and leave ready for a job in the sex indusrty of SL. ND had one of the best stores in SL during this time IMHO. The entire sim was primed for photo shoots with sets for beach fun scattered all around. There was also a lesser known discount ND location, where one could purchase older designs or some with a slight flaw for a fraction of the price.

Skin-MM, Creator: Minnu Palen, Style: SkinGloss-Rain, Color: Pale, Acquired: Nov 6, 2007

Ahhh MM skins. I lusted for these and saved until I could finally afford them. I will admit to not being my first skin in SL, but these skins were the first one that made me go, " WOW, I want that." Everything looked real without looking too real for my taste. I loved the soft color of pink on the lips and the dark lined cat eyes.

Eyes-Aden, Creator: Aden Bryer, Style: Gen 1 Eyes, Color: Pacific clear, Acquired Aug 15, 2008

Aden 's hair was my absolute favorite at one point in time. Truth be told I have at least 15 designs still in my inventory. Aden didn't stick to hair design, but rather ventured out into the skin and eye aspect of SL design. These eyes came in both a bloodshot and clear version. The bloodshot version of any eye always creeped me out and I felt it gave me a "stoner" look that was unattractive.

Top- Surf Co, Creator: Emma Gilmour, Style: Mona Jacket, Color: Gold, Acquired: Jan 26 2008

Emmas designs have been something I have fallen in love with since April, 2007. I discovered her when I stopped at GNUbie and have been a loyal shopper of her designs ever since. Surf Co has grown over the last couple of years. I always manage to head into the store for one item and then end up buying two or three instead. As ive stated in previous blog posts Ive never been dissatisfied in the quality or price of Surf Co's designs. The Mona Jacket I think was a group gift. Surf Co is known to give some exclusive items to its supporters from time to time.

Skirt-Paper Couture, Creator: Prue Lu, Style:Shorthand Grey Skirt, Acquired: Jun 5,2007

So back in early 2007 I visited a boardwalk filled with wondrous designs called Tableau. I didn't know at the time that Tableau would become such a fashion icon in SL. The sim itself kept me coming back always changing in theme Tabeau designs and stores were a must see. PC, was my first taste into "mix and match clothing". Suddenly SL became a lot more interesting because dressing up was something fun. Also it was a break away from the stripper clothing that had taken over my SL wardrobe and provided a chance for exploration onto other areas of fashion.

Shoes- Gracile, Creator: Unknown, Style: Triss, Acquired: unknown often loaned out to alts

I only visited this store once and I can't even remember the designer's name. For some reason SL displays creator unknown. Here is what I can tell you about this shoe. It was my first sculpti pair of shoes and I loved them. They have the ability to change colors which became quite handy and necessary because I was shopping on a very limited budget back then. These shoes were well worth the Lindens I shelled out, and are still cute enough to pair with outfits.

So there you have it folks my Oldies but Goodies picks. If you haven't signed up yet please join the plurkies and if you blog please take part in this challenge its been so much fun reading everyone posts. I cant wait to read yours next :D
