Today is Pink Shirt day! For those of you that are not aware Pink shirt day is a RL movement to stop bullying. More information about the RL movement can be found at the following sites.

Whether it be in cyber space or in RL, bulling is hurtful and damaging to one's self esteem. Personally I can't stand to see groups of intelligent people I respect tearing one another apart. We forget that we are a community and should be supportive of one another. We each have different personalities, strengths and weakness. We should learn to become more tolerant, loving and caring of one another. By utilizing our unique perspective and outlook on SL; we are able to build a stronger bonds within our little community. Just think of the resources we could pull together instead of using negative energy to tear one another apart. We're all adults and should take the time to reflect upon that before we speak badly about another person.

As someone that has been the subject of bully attacks in the past I can defiantly say it caused me unnecessary stress. Just because the method of bullying is virtual/cyber doesn't mean the emotional pain is lessened nor does it mean that it is acceptable. I've walked away from my computer at times with tears streaming down my face. The effect of the bullying didn't just stop at my computer but carried on to other areas of my RL as well. For some of us leaving the virtual world drama behind is a little more difficult and attacks made against personal decisions or aspects of your RL can cause emotional distress and real pain.

"Vogue" with the First Annual Pose Fair 2010

The First Annual Pose Fair is here and underway!! The Pose fair opened it's doors on April 2, 2010 and will run until April 16th, 2010. Almost 100 pose vendors have all gathered for this event to raise funds for Motivation, which is an organization that helps individuals with mobility disabilities. This worthy, noble and heartfelt cause is the main beneficiary of the first annual poise fair. The second are the wonderful, generous and talented Animators/pose makers that make us avatars mobile. This pose fair not only brought awareness to Motivation, but it also made myself and others conscious of the influence that animators/pose makers have within SL. I will admit sometimes tend to forget these praises and have inadvertently made them the unsung heroes of my blog and well....my SL life.

Without these creators SL Residents would become vapid, lifeless dolls without expression and movement. Stuck in Linden chicken walks with our arms tapered at our side like stumps. Instead of walking we would waddle to one another and resemble poultry more than humans. Intimate embraces such as cuddles, kisses, hugs and group shots would become a faded memory. Which is why it's important to provide kudos to these creators.

I honestly have a lot of fun editing photos and picking out the perfect pose is a big part of my creative process. Which is why I have decided to make a commitment from this post on to provide a little credit at the bottom of my blog for pose makers and props, as a way to say Thank you; I appreciate you; and PLEASE keep doing the fabulous work that allows me to "strike a pose, and Vogue".

Accidentally in Love with L.Jubilee

 So with spring in full bloom and Easter quickly approaching you might be wondering what to get that special bunny lover in your life. Well fear not! L.Jubilee designs by Luna Jubilee has some wonderful bunnie treats just for you. Selling both Live and Nests L.Jubilee's bunnies are raised with care and exhibit quality traits. Sparkling eyes, glowing skin, and an uber cutness factor that you might fall accidentally in love with. ;) L.Jubilee has more to offer than just bunnies. For your spoiled little bundles of fur, there are two hutches which make great homes; "The Bunny Hutch" and "Circle Hutch Silo".

"The Bunny Hutch" is beautifully crafted and IMHO, resembles a Hampton style beach home. The white exterior and fenced cage siding are accented by the gray/blue tile roof. The ramp makes this hutch easily accessible to your bunnies; just rez and watch them hop in. The side panels have a unique feature I have yet to see in bunny hutches; One way prims. The outside cage wiring allows you to look in and view the bunnies resting in the hutch; while inside the walls change and the white siding shown. Your bunnies can rest peacefully night or day in the hutch with no interruptions. Finally the raised posts that the hutch rest upon, which remind me of seaside stilts that give a Hampton-esque  feel saying this hutch is for spoiled, loved pampered bunnies. Last but certainly not least is the "Circle Hutch Silo" available with and without a lid. What's so genius about the "Circle Hutch Silo", the ability to stack these hutches. Like mini bunk beds for your bunny, L.Jubilee's allows you to sort and manage your beloved bunnies. The "Circle Hutch Silo" comes in several pastel spring colors, blue, golden, green pink and purple. Another great feature is the wire cage aspect. The cage can be opened and closed for easy bunny access, in addition there is also a label feature which will allow you to choose different phrases for the cage; such as, "boys', "girls", "pairs" "babies","for sale"and "blank" for no text. "The Circle Hutch Silo" is available at the main store L.Jubilee The Bunny Store and is 2-3 prims. Ingenious design INHO.

"Here Comes the Sun" with 5th&Oxford

5th&Oxford has released a new spring outfit "Jori". It's flawless beautiful design made me feel as if I was taking a walk thru a garden on a spring day. I love that 5th&Oxford's new release has the ability to be mixed and matched. (I love love love when designers choose to give this option.) The cardigan, blouse and Skirt come in 8 spring colors. Daffodil, Turquoise, Twig, Violet, Bone, Coral, Egg Blue and Rose. These colors highlight the season and make you feel as if the sun and warm weather are quickly approaching.

To show the ease of the ability to mix and match these designs I opted to pull together two looks using Jori blouse (Pic1) and Jori Skirt (Pic2).

"Light Up My Room" with The Loft

The main reason I shop from The Loft can be summed up in one word...QUALITY.  The loft has never failed to meet my expectations, but rather with every new release they have managed to exceed it; making most furniture shops a pain and disappointment to visit. I've seen The Loft grow in style and content design during my time in SL. The latest release being no exception, as someone that has been a fan of the loft for quite some time I must tell you these designs contain a feature that I have been awaiting for quite some time now. I was extremely excited to see The Loft's introduction of texture customization in its prim furniture. These low prim designs, are not only beautiful in their simplicity, but give you freedom and greater options in choosing your decor. The Maxwell Furniture has been designed in mind to accompany the Linden's Meadowbrook style homes, a part of the premium membership advantages. With only 117 prims, SL Linden Homes are quite the challenge to decorate.

When SL released Linden Homes I quickly signed up for my space. Determined to make a space that was unique and reflective of me. I quickly found the Meadowbrook styles calling my name. Linden Labs created themed home areas, neighborhoods, where SLers can mingle and live. I really enjoy my Linden home the view is great, (I'm a sucker for windows). No ugly signs, strip clubs or builds; out of all of my three mainland parcels it's the most serene and happy. When decorating my LL Home I tried to incorporate a modern decor in order to maintain the integrity of the home's design. Black and White became the central colors with floral motifs appearing as reminder of the spring season.

 Squirrels roaming, leaves falling and neighbors on all sides the Linden Lab home has great potential to provide future population growth within the SL community. LL can use these homes as a tool for future growth and advancement by creating not just a visually stunning location, but one that fosters friendship. Which can hopefully lead to an emotionally attachment to the SL community, retaining residents and enticing new one to join thru word of mouth.

"Right As Rain" in L'Abel

The newest release from L'Abel are one word....Gorgeous. Classic, timeless and ohhh so chic L'Abel is a must stop shopping location for ladies with discerning taste. Known for her wonderful vintage styles, Neferia Abel, of Ivalde has released couture style fashions under her L'abel these fashions are wonderul for ladies that want to incorporate a little bit of glam into thier sl lives.

With spring quickly approaching the "Mari grey cardigan" is perfect for layering over short cute lacy tops. I paired this tasty treat with jeans for a more relaxed and comfortable feel. Mari, knitted top is versatile and allows your style to shine when matching. The flexi flowing prim waist can be removed to reveal a short cropped jacket. Which when paired with a skirt and other accessories can create a posh, polished and refined look.

 The "Anneli black dress", is this seasons answer to the LBD. I instantaneous fell in love with the lace and trim along the bottom and decolletage of the dress. The texturing is beautiful, if you look closely you can see the detial work that Nef placed in her design. It's truly something to be admired. The flower on the waist embellish the dress and draws the eye across the silhouette and curves created by the sculpti bottom. L'Abel has proven to have beautifully crafted items and is a premier choice in my spring attire. These new items to be released on Saturday March 13, 2010.

Today's LOTD is all about the ladies of mystery, Velma and Nancy Drew, Like "Murder she wrote", these great detectives were the inspiration when pulling this look together, vintage, modest and slightly nerdy it says "Jinkies, a mystery is afoot." (Credits at the bottom)

 

A good detective knows that makeup can become a great tool for sleuthing. A compact is wonderful for looking around corners and signaling for help using Morris code and the sun. Lipstick can be used in a pinch to leave messages on windows, and mark spots of where evidence is located.

Always carry a sketch book, note book or scrap paper. You never know when you might have sketch a suspect, write down a license plate or other valuable information.

and of course no detective should ever be without a flashlight. Perfect to see those things that go bump in the night.
