Glitter and Gold

Jem (Jem is excitment). Ohhh Jem(Jem is adventure) ohh (Glamour and Glitter, Fashion and Fame!)

After 80's night I became all nostalgic and decided to look up youtube videos of Jem and the Holograms. Jem was awesome! pink hair, hott boyfriend (snickers), and a girl rock band that was truly outrageous. Watch the video and take a trip back into time when Big hair and metal bands ruled the world.



After reminiscing I thought it would be fun to create a dress inspired by the video. I found myself humming the glitter and gold tune while I was creating this dress. Glitter and gold includes: prim sleeves and collar, fur boa, prim bow, top skirt and glitch pants.

I am having a little sale for this outfit. For the next two days that's Thursday and Friday I will be selling this outfit for only 1 linden. After that Glitter and Gold will be 75l. ohhh before I forget, this weekend at the LD we are having some great events. The contest boards will be at 1000l on both Friday and Saturday, Sun and Mon 500l you know you wanna come out and chill with us. Event times are Friday-Monday 7-9 slt.

So I have been jamming out to Lily Allen all weekend and I cant get this song out of my head, thus the name of this post. I am a big fan of Lily Allen, especially this song. Now for your weekend update

First off the new club Lexxistential Deviances opened on Friday and it was a totally 80riffic night! the contest prize was at 2000l and there was enough leg warmers and bangles for everyone! I was shaking it on the main stage along with fellow dancers, Abel Bellios, AuroraJ Whitfield and Cudgell Nitely. Once again I left my camera at home, so I didn't get any photos. This just mean you have to TP in to the club and check it out first hand. Events are Friday-Monday 7-9slt pm. I usually hang out most nights even if I am not working. What can I say ......I love this club.

Also I finally learned what Semyorka is, thanks to Frankie. Semyorka is...its the number 7, in Russian! The R-7 Semyorka was the first intercontinental ballistic missile back during the cold war. I guess I should start living up to my dangerous surname and become a weapon of mass destruction, hmmm on second thought, maybe not. A group of us dancers went shopping this weekend at Casa Del Shai and Zev Bellios found a blog worthy dress. Zev has a great eye for finding the perfect outfit, asking for her advice was the best thing cause I would have actually missed this dress on the roof of the store. The Boracay Sun dress is filled with beautiful colors of red and orange remind me of a perfect sunset. I want this dress in RL *pouts and sighs* Boracay left me with the " I have nothing to wear" feeling, I cant think of another thing in my inventory that makes me feel fun, flirty and sexy all at once.

Hit it!.........This ain't no disco.....It ain't no country club either......This is LA!

Well not LA, but its Lexxotica, a brand spanking new sim. This Sim is wonderful because its now home to high-class strip club, Lexxistential Deviances! wait.. there's more..Lexxotica also has parcels of land for sale, and vendor spots for rent in their new mall. (Looks like its time to go shopping again:)!!) Eight residential parcels of 4096 sq.m., are available for only L$35k a plot, with a land tier of only 3,500 per 2 weeks. Lexxistential Deviances events are scheduled Friday- Monday from 7-9slt. Guess what?! They are hiring Dancer/Escorts, Hosts/Hostesses and DJS. I can tell you from personal experience that working for the LD management, is always a pleasure. If your looking for a no drama atmosphere where you are treated with both kindness and respect this is the place for you. I can only begin to imagine what fun opening night will be. :) I hope you will stop in and party with us.

Friday night started off with a bang at KSU's open house. If you haven't checked out KSU yet you are surly missing out. The role play Sim opened its doors by allowing temporary access to guests who joined the group KSU Guests for the weekend. Delta Sister,TheDiva Rockin was playing some booty shaking tunes. PERSONA outfit

The Valentine/Anti Valentine scavenger hunt started in the wee hours of Saturday Feb 9th. I received a note card about this event from one of my trusty groups "Mental Mentors". The grid wide hunt began at 1am slt, which is 2 hours behind central time; making it around 3am when I started the hunt. I was awake most of the night hunting before I finally started to lose consciousness in front of my computer and crawled to bed.

The hunt began in one central location and instructions were given to purchase one of the dozen boxes lined out in front of us. a note card filled with LMs to different stores popped open on my screen. I was in awe at the number of stores that pulled together for this event, yet another example of how SL is a community. Every establishment on the note card had quality items meticulously hidden within thier store. The only catch... the locations of the boxes would move thought the day, making it harder to keep track of these treasures. Some of these hiding spots were really good, in fact in some of the larger stores I just gave up. *coughs, lazy ass* I'm sure I probably missed out on some great items. My favorites items from the treasure hunt include a heart necklace with matching earrings from Caroline's Jewelry, a complete outfit from PERSONA and couple animation form ANIMAH.

It felt like Sunday came out of nowhere! I started off my day by DJing at the CDS ball in Schloss. The residents of CDS danced and celebrated the fact that the elections were now officially over! Yay! we started off with some words from our Chancellor, Alexicon Kurka, after that it was full party mode ...well after the traditional waltz was out of the way.

the cherry that topped of the weekend was getting a chance to tour the new sim Lexxocita, This deserves an entire new posting, so keep your peepers open for the next entry.

Semi-Charmed Life

Thursday night at Insurrection Alley I was introduced to the game Tiny Empires. Now I'm hooked and cant stop playing. I knew this game has been around SL for a while, I heard about it in blogs and podcasts. I even tried the trial version once before, but since I didn't know anyone who was playing TE at the time I quickly became frustrated and chucked the game into the trash. This time however it was different.

Tiny Empires for those of you who are not familiar with it, Is a HUD based game in SL. The object is to collect land, gold and subjects adding to your wealth and moving up the social hierarchy. There are chances to bribe others from different kingdoms to join your liege. It's fairly easy to play and can be run in any script allowing sim so it can be played at any time. there is a trial version of the game available if you want to test it out, but after a couple of hours it will stop working and in order to continue you will have to purchase the full version, but its totally worth it!!! I have a trial version of the game so if you would like to play send me an IM and I will get you set up.

During the party on Thursday night for the Kingdom of Charm; I volunteered to shake my fanny and work the party. I noticed that everyone was talking about royalty and mentioning events that were happening in the game. I became curious as as the night progressed and I too wanted to join in and play Tiny Empires. Lillindrial Kamachi, Peachy Sassoon help me get started and introduced me to people within the kingdom. With such a warm welcome from the group I was soon on my way. I swore myself to the service of Countess Annie Levasseur, so far I have not received an offer that would make me leave her side. I am 100 percent loyal. :) I do have two Subjects now, Sir Frankie Palliard and Sir Lappaska Kanto. I had a third subject, but he left my liege :( I'm working on trying to add new subjects, Who knew bribery and treachery could be so much fun.

OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!

I've waited all week for this sale at Last Call, and boy was I in for a surprise when I landed. First the sim region was full, that was a given considering who Ginny was to the SL community and the quality of work she produced. The 100l price point didn't hurt either as many scrambled to get these last designs for such a steal. I landed in the Last Call landing point and started to feel a bit claustrophobic, more avatars started to rezz and soon I realized that we were all confined to a small box outside the men's store. It felt like some kind of cruel joke, to be close to the clothes, but not actually able to buy anything . A girl in the crowd informed me it has been busy like this since midnight her time, and she was from Australia. I felt like the lady in that old commercial sitting outside her favorite store hands pressed against the glass peering in chanting OPEN OPEN OPEN. I heard one of my fellow shoppers come up with the idea to cam shop and we all disabled camera restraints and zoomed in to the building, Anything for a sale right?! Shortly after zooming in the Sim crashed :( I didn't get to spend one measly Linden and its such a shame too, I save all week for this sale. So now I will sit checking the Dazzle sim over and over again until I have a chance to teleport in and grab loads of items. I guess patience is a virtue and its something I must learn.

BTW- to earn some extra cash for college I've gone back to work at Insurrection Alley, one of the coolest places in SL, I call home. I'm shaking my fanny like I did during my newbies days, only this time I'm a tad braver. Events are held Friday, Sat, Sunday and Monday from 8-10 slt. Feel free to pop in and say hello.
